Chartered Institute of Credit Management
1: The Client
The Chartered Institute of Credit Management is the largest recognised professional body in the world for the credit management community. Based out of Oakham in Lincolnshire, CICM was formed over 75 years ago and was granted its Royal Charter in 2014. CICM are the trusted leader for all credit and collections matters, and it represents the profession across trade, consumer and international credit, as well as all credit-related services.
2: The Brief
When their initial MPS contract came up for renewal, CICM asked us to take over the procurement project on their behalf. Like many other businesses we dealt with, print has always been seen as “if it is not broke, don’t fix it – until you have too”. While the brief given by CICM was to look into their two contracted MFPs, we went above and beyond to provide a full print audit of their head office, incorporating their departmental office printers as well as looking into staff behaviour and culture of print. Their two contracted MFPs were situated in the business print room which was on the bottom floor of their head office. With no other colour print or scan/copy functionality in any other areas, staff had to walk to these devices every time they needed to use those functions which resulted in a back log of print and a queue of people using the devices.
3: The Solution
We worked closely with the staff at CICM to define exactly what was needed and how we could solve the problems they were facing. Together we decided it would be better if their larger A3 MFPs could be situated in strategic locations across the business but also swapping their departmental desktop printers for more user friendly and cost efficient A4 desktop MFPs. This gave departments the use of colour, print, copy, and scan functionality as well as reducing the need to visit the larger A3 devices, which were now to be used only for external colour documents and large files. We approached a number of national and local suppliers who we thought would best suit the client’s needs. In total we helped reduce their print costs by 52% and a local supplier secured the arrangement, who had an outstanding reputation of supporting local clients.
